Friday "My Town" Shoot Out - Aged & Weathered

Since I am on vacation, and since I now have access to my files, this is coming to you from the past. Now I know what Butler and Bagman meant when one of them (or was is Mark?) talked about postings from the grave.

It is kind of freaky that I am posting this on September 1, from the comfort of my home knowing that you will be enjoying it on September 11, from the comforts of your homes while I am someplace that, at the present time, I now have no idea where I will be. Of course, by then, you will have already been told that I will be on vacation and where I might be headed.

Gosh, I wish I could jump ahead to the following week and talk about what a good time I had.

This is getting very confusing. I will leave that job to Butler and Bagman. Mark and the gang do a much better job than I do when it comes to all this time and space stuff.

Some of you have seen these photos in other posts but perhaps you will enjoy them again. We can say one thing about photos: They do stop time. In this case, they are speeding it up and stopping it at the same time.

I'm pretty aged and weathered.

Don't you just love the scheduled postings? You have some wonderful photos here. I like the pink cadillac, the coca cola sign and the rusted old boat the best. Oh, and the next to last photos is great too. Those clothes are definitley aged and weathered. I hardly think that you are aged and weathered though. You are just wise.

Patty, these are beautiful, classic photos. I enjoyed all of them! Especially like the boardwalk with tall dead grass on either side, and I really like the weathered boat with the seagull in it.
I hope you are enjoying your vacation!

I haven't tried that yet, posting one day as a draft and then having it turn up as if by magic on another day. Seems it works just great though! Love your photos this week, Patty, they seem extra sharp and clear, fantastic color. Can't help loving the pink cadillac (my color) but do like the one of the rusty old boat. It is as if it is floating there, lost and forgotten, remembering its own better-days. Hope all is well with you! LOVE the shot at the end of you, you aren't looking nearly as battered and weathered as I am dear friend!! Debby

Love the boats in the water, especially the one that I think was hauled from the depths!

Looks like a photograper's post to me. Great!
I had to smile. On first glance at the last photo I thought you were holding a machine gun. Even you can't shoot that fast!
Hope you have a relaxing time on your vacation.

Wonderful collection. Each one, with balanced colors, mood and emotion, as effective as a painting. Not one is my favourite. They all are.

You look very good to me.

Makes me think of that Diane Keaton movie with Jack Nichoson.

Does NIKON pay you to advertise for them?LOL

Beautiful scenes, boats and buildings, old rust ect - fantastic.

Ann: Thanks. No Nikon does not pay me.

I went to the marina last week in our truck and I saw a fancy car with a "Canon" tag. I never did find the owner. I wanted to find out why, if he/she had such a fancy car, he/she could could not afford Nikon cameras.

Just kidding, all you Canon owners. You know we like to tease each other. I have been true to Nikon since 1985.

My husband shot that with my Nikon D700. That is my favored camera.

This is a wonderful shoot out, Patty! So many pictures. They are really worn and weathered. The salt sea air really does a number on metal and wood. But not you lovely lady! You are beautiful inside and out.
