Blue Heron Filter

"The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to the poet. A bird seems to be at the top of the scale, so vehement and intense his life. . . . The beautiful vagabonds, endowed with every grace, masters of all climes, and knowing no bounds -- how many human aspirations are realised in their free, holiday-lives -- and how many suggestions to the poet in their flight and song!" ~John Burroughs

Found this in my files and thought it quite drab. So I added a little magic.

I just can't imagine that photograph looking drab. Brings me back to my summer vacation, and the marsh out beyond the cottage where a swan family lives, and plenty of heron. A little time travel, thanks to your photo.

and the magic is working!! Great shot! By the way, are you the author of the Friday shoot out blog too, Patty? Sure is some intersting reading there, and it just has your name written all over it. Lemono though, just to still my curiosity!! Have a great Monday dear friend, Debby

Debby: I set up the Friday Shootout blog to give people info about how to sign up and what was expected if they did join out little gang. I am the original administrator. It was big job. I signed Gordon up as an admin, then ChefE, GingerV, and now Jen is helping out. The shootout page is expanding and growing all the time.

Noe, Noe: They don't let people get too close to them. There are times I wish I had one of those 400 lenses, but they are impractical for photojournalist. We can't lug around large pieces of equipment and be on the move.

Joanne: So glad you liked it. I do enjoy your blog.

Hard to imagine that shot was ever drab, and I don't believe it was. But I do like magic you've added. Gray just had a big stretch, looked over at me and winked hello to his friend Patty.
