Rainy Day Pennies for a good cause

 The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
No, this is not a leftover Halloween post and yes, there are nickels, dimes, and quarters mixed in with the pennies. These pumpkin buckets were just an easy way for Woodsen Elementary School to  move all the change they collected from students to PNC Bank in Pocomoke where the change was processed into a machine.

There were more buckets not shown in this photo along with a little cash, but all in all that change added up to over $2,000.  And just where did all that money go? The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. What a great lesson for students on both saving for a rainy day and sharing what you have.  Kudos to the students of Woodsen Elementary School!

I just love these machines. Unfortunately they are becoming  scarce, as least as far as being able to walk into a bank and have someone throw your change into one at no charge.
