Crisfield D-Day survivors

D-Day survivors in Crisfield Dana Tawes, Austin Cox, 29th Infantry
I am a little late on this post because I have been busy, but I wanted to introduce my readers who live out of the area to two Crisfield natives  who are  D-Day survivors. Both fought on Omaha Beach at Normandy. Where there were once 16 million WW II veterans, there are only around 2 million, with more than 1,000 dying off each day. Thank you to all who served.

A salute to our local treasures:

Platoon Sergeant Austin Cox, Sr., 29th Division of the Infantry.

General Maurice Dana Tawes, 29th Division of the Infantry.

Read more about Austin Cox in the December 15, edition of the Crisfield-Somerset County Times.

Much love and appreciation to these two gentlemen. I hope they see this comment because I want them to know how much I truly appreciate their service....their brave and loyal service to our country. I remembered all our service men today as it is Dec. 7.
My Daddy is 84...served in WWII in the Navy in the Pacific...invasion of the Philipines. I thanked him with a hug and a kiss today....
Thank you again to these two men...and to all those who were a part of D-Day.
Words cannot express my gratitude...no words can...but I hope that you can feel the gratitude and admiration that I have for you. From my heart to you, I want to say thank you so very much.
Love,
Jackie
