Why not visit Crisfield this October?

black AmEx Centurion card

I recently posted a photo of someone working on their boat at Sea Mark Marine. It was my dream boat for sailing the high seas - maybe not the best boat for the high seas, but as long as I was dreaming - why not that boat at that time? Looking into the spyglass of the dreams of others is always fun. It's a pretty inexpensive way to travel, too.  I suppose that the adventurer in most of us would have us sailing the high seas or riding camels in Egypt or scaling the Aconcagua in the Andes rather than sitting behind desks or propping up our feet on ottomans. Of course, one must be financially well-off - rich, so to speak, in order to be able to realize all their travel dreams. For  those of us who can't jump a private jet to the very private Clermont Club in London, I suggest seeing what you've been missing in your own backyards. Take a lazy half-day drive to some place you've never been, take in the scenery, and enjoy a relaxing meal. Enjoy this getting-out-of the-house weather. The Maryland weather might be a little rainy, but this time of year never gets too hot or too cold. It's the time to explore.

We don't have any mountains or camels in Crisfield but we do have some beautiful scenery that,  when the light is right, can be just as spectacular as looking out over the Cliffs of Dover. OK. Not that spectacular,  but the bay that surrounds our little town can be a refreshing break for the land-locked. And if you'd rather set your imagination to sail away to some tropical island, just look around and pick a boat. You don't even need to pull out your black AmEx Centurion card.

Hi Patty, I've been enjoying checking your blog every few days for stores about the eastern shore. We are still on our Maine road trip and finally seeing some great fall colors the further south we head in the state. We're posting daily on our blog too if you want to check us out.
