McCready Hospital beneift

McCready Hospital benefit, hosted by Maho's

Maho’s Restaurant to Hold Benefit for McCready Hospital

Crisfield – Hazel and Mohhamet Koltuk, owners of Maho’s family restaurant and lounge in Crisfield, will sponsor a Celebrity Waiters Night on Wednesday, November 10th, to benefit the renovation of McCready Hospital’s inpatient unit.

The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. “…or later if people stay,” according to Mrs. Koltuk. “We’re expecting our ‘celebrity’ waiters and bartenders to include area and Crisfield public officials, teachers, local media personalities, McCready board members and staff and anyone else who volunteers.”

The volunteer waiters will donate their tips to McCready; so will the Maho’s staff waiters who will assist them.

Volunteer waiters expect to be asked to sing, dance, chomp on a raw onion or do other (possibly humiliating) activities requested by their diners for extra large tips.

In addition to whatever entertainment the waiters provide, Mrs. Koltuk says there will be a silent auction, a fifty-fifty raffle and a cakewalk announced by Crisfield’s favorite auctioneer, Erik “Flea” Emely. Popular local deejay Adam Riggin will entertain all evening – providing his services strictly as a volunteer for half of it.

Marie Witt, the McCready Hospital fund development director, said that anyone with the wish to support their local hospital is invited to volunteer for a shift as a waiter, bartender or Maitre D. She also welcomes  items for the silent auction and home-baked cakes and pies for the cake walk.

To volunteer, or for information, contact Mrs. Witt at 410-968-1024 or Mrs. Koltuk at 410-968-2835.

Thanks to Maho's for hosting this event.  I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a good meal, enjoy the fun, and contribute to the hospital's inpatient unit. I photographed a similar benefit at Maho's and it was a lot of fun. I won't be able to photograph this event for reasons I will post later.
