"My friends are my estate." ~ Emily Dickinson
This is Dan and Barb Kuebler. This is Barb at her surprise birthday party. Surprise birthday parties are so common, aren't they? Not when it comes to these two.
We were all told to arrive at a certain time and allow at least eight hours for the celebration. Barb was supposed to be out shopping with a friend; we were supposed to surprise her when she came home. The surprise was on us when Barb came riding up in a first-class tour bus. Instead of gifts for the birthday girl, she gave us a gift.
So we all took off to Harborside in Ocean City...
We were treated to music and libations.
At Haborside, we were treated to appetizers and more libations.
After a few hours in Ocean City, we jumped back on the tour bus and headed to the Lagoon Bar and Grill at the Fountains in Salisbury. I filtered the TV screen to read Happy Birthday.
Even Barb got in on the act.
Thanks Barb and Dan. A good time was had by all. And how sweet of you to give to your friends on your birthday, Barb.
Sorry I could not include everyone. Only so much room and so much time. All your guys rock, though!

Haha! That's AWESOME!!!!!!!
Looks like a fun time.
Rebecca: it was fun. The best thing about it was having friends who really enjoyed doing something for their friends on their special day.
What a wonderful thing to do. Looks like everyone had a great time.

Some really good stuff here. Surprisingly, I liked the first one best...I usually hate smiley posed stuff but this was really nicely composed with details that kept the eye moving. The train looked like fun.
Wow! What a fun party!!
Butler and Bagman: It was a luxury tour bus. We don't have trains around these parts. Not anymore.
I liked that photo, too. It went beyond the smiles and clothes to show the honesty and goodness of the couple. Ted Grant (He's from Canada Barry, Linda, Elaine and Geoff), said, "When you photograph people in color you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls!" In this case, the photo bypassed their clothes and let their souls shine through.
And that is why my old AP photographer friend saw something more than two people smiling.
Queenmother: A good time was held by all. Thanks for the comment.
Willow: It was a fun party. And no one knew where we going until we got there. Surprises all along the way. You would have loved it!
A good time was had by all.
