Remember When?

"Alas! How dreary would be the world if there was no Santa Claus!... There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence." ~ Francis P. Church

Remember when you were young and terrified of Santa? I do. Many children, like this little sport, stood his ground and would go no further. He really wanted that candy cane, so Santa had to do the "scared-kid stretch" in order to get it to him. I captured this moment when I went to the Princess Anne firehouse to cover Pizza with Santa, an annual event that included pizza and a movie.

Eventually, the little boy warmed up to Santa. He did better than I did on my first visit.

And this little girl was all smiles.

Event Santa's helpers got to spend a little quality time with him.

Santa has a very busy schedule but I hear he will be at the Lower Somerset County Ambulance & Rescue Squad in Crisfield on Saturday Dec. 12, from 8-12 to share breakfast with our boys and girls. I gave Santa my list at the firehouse, but I don't think it would hurt to remind him again on Saturday. I have been very, very good.

Nice watch, Santa! I wonder which time zone it is set for.

Butler and Bagman: Somehow, I knew Bagman would want to know what time it was. Bagman does not have to worry about Santa's timing. All he will be getting for Christmas is a lump of coal. On the other hand, I am sure Butler will be getting something nice. And I'll bet Mark will have tons of presents under his tree. Have you been extra good, Mark?

I remember my parents had Santa come to the house during one of our Christmas's when my daughter was little. she cried and was scared of him also.

We grew up with no Santa. One year, when I was a kid, Santa flew in a helicopter to give orphans gifts. We live near by and went to look hoping Santa will have a gift for us.
