“Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind” ~ Johannes Brahms
I captured Tim McDorman painting these newly made rails on the St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Crisfiled. McDorman has been working with iron for 40 years. McDorman did not install these; he made them. It is nice to know that we still have quality craftsman in our town. Unlike many areas, we actually still have a lot of them in Crisfield.

Congratulations to your town for having such an artisan. A lovely picture. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Hmm, working with irons is not exactly the best job in the world but this guy seemed to really enjoy and love his work, doing it for over 40 years! I gotta salute Mr. McDorman!
It's a great idea to feature different people coming from different walks of life!
I always love how your pictures aren't just images, they're stories. I love reading about the facts behind the picture. Very nice :)
Greetings from the Highlands, Patty! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving such lovely comments. And now i have found you. I'm originally from New Jersey, but have lived in many places, too...although i think this is my last move. It's nice to see images from 'home.' I am partial to your b/w photography, the incredible humanity you've captured. Inspiring work. Your Skipper is bonnie. ;) Lizzy
He seems pleased with his work too.
Your photos tell such stories! Stories hinting at more stories. Love it!
