Tis the Season

"Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile." ~ William Cullen Bryant

We are all in fall mode. Willow is getting ready for her grand ball, chipmunks are listening to "Oh, Canada" as they gather their winter food, Gray is putting on his winter hat, Gordon and ChefE are planning on catching all the fish in New York ...I would like to mention everyone, but then I would never get around to posting my photos. Except, I do wonder what Bagman is doing?

Fall is a wonderful time of the year to get out and enjoy the beauty around us. That includes going for walks and drives and taking in the sights and sounds of a new season, decorating our houses and yards with rich fall colors, planning our holidays, and checking out our local stores. I wanderd into the Weathered Porch in Crisfield today looking for a particular chair and found some wonderful fall colors I would like to share with you.

Gray is going around with his chest puffed out now that you've mentioned him in your post. He's also looking for a winter hat - that's your fault! Love the photos. I'm with Marilyn, I want to shot there too!

A Scattering: Make sure you get Gray a matching scarf to go with his hat.

I think those colors are one of the reasons I love autumn. They're so comforting. We have a store here like your Weathered Porch, I could spend all afternoon in it, wandering through.

Wait til you see an actual picture of me in my 1957 actual vintage dress at Willow's party.

What a fun place, but I'll just window shop.

The orangy color of fall is so warming. Your pumpkin is so "glowing"
bright. My poor pumpkins were pale green.

Man Halloween has become like a Christmas all its own...to borrow from a movie title...Nightmare Before Christmas, LOL

Those are great shots of fall colors! And not a crab pumpkin anywhere to be seen.

What a sensational display. Makes my little pumpkin on the doorstep seem pathetic.

Oh, and Bagman is busy falling out of bed!

Yes, where are all your Hallowe'en crabs? In Crisfield does the Great Hallowe'en Crab scuttle out of the Pumpkin Patch? Aren't there Hallowe'en crabs?

I love the pumpkin full of lights. That looks like an amazing autumn stop and shop. Lovely post, Patty.

Patty my dear friend, was thrilled to see your comment today!! How is it going with you? Things are good in my corner of the world, weather could be better, but then i do so like to complain about Germany's weather, I have it down to a science. No one will ever make it like it!! :-) LOVE love love your photos, oh my gosh that first one with the huge jack-o-lantern lit up for all to see, well you are just making me miss the states real bad. We do have Halloween here now too, which is great, but it is pretty low key and the stores don't have much in the way of deco. Wow, I wish I could see all that in person. I agree with Marilyn, that stuff would look great on my front step. Wouldn't I have the neighbors coming around to take a peek at the American's out of this world Halloween decorations!! thinking of you, Debby

It amazes me how early we start celebrating holidays. But I love the colors...and particularly the way you handled the last one. In a sense it is kind of a silhouette of color against a black and white background...See! You can't avoid the shootout if you tried!
