Seagulls at Glenwood Evans

I recently posted some photos I took at Glenwood Evans Seafood where many crabbers bring their catch of the day. There is always a photo to had there. This one was taken from the city dock. Be sure and put our dock on your list for places to take photos when you visit Crisfield. The best time for a sunset photo of Glenwood Evans is late evenings.

Is it OK to tilt your camera to take a photo? Heck yes. A lot of people use programs to un-tilt their photos. Be creative. Photojournalists oftentimes take tilted photos for impact. And yes, you can shoot into the sun. Flares can give your photos some punch.

BTW, it was a beautiful day in Crisfield today. How's your weather?

Low 50s here, and steady rain all day long. A cozy, late October day, I'd say. No blue skies like yours there!

You had to ask about our weather, right? Grrrr!

Sure, look at your sunny skies and your happy seagulls. We can point our camera at the sun too, if only we knew where it was!

I'm told it will stop raining here in time for Christmas!

"Man oh man. We are buying mittens to support the Olympics and take the chill off. Brrrrrrrrrr! If we dug a hole in the accumulative nimbus layers of smog, there could be sun and blue sky. Who knows? You eat crab and we just crab. Nice sunny warm blue sky happy birds buzzing sparkling water picture there Patty! Thanks for sharing and reminding me of summer." she said as she sat in her corner of the dank smoggy city she called home on this cold, damp late fall Thursday afternoon. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Okay, Patty, now I know you are an excellent photojournalist but how did you manipulate it so every single one of those seagulls had their wings spread and none of them were doing weird dippy things or overlapping each other...I've done lots of flocks of birds things and they never ever choreograph themselves well when the shutter clicks. What's the secret?

Our weather (here in the deeep south) is still warm....but cooling...It dropped to the 70's today...and I felt like bundling up! :)) The weather is nice, though...beautiful skies...lovely sunsets (a gorgeous moon on Halloween night.)
I love these birds. They know a gooood thing when they spot it, don't they.
Thanks for the pointer about not straightening every photo...
This is lovely...
Smiles from Jackie

Beautiful shot of the gulls with the sun shining through their wings! I tilt pictures a lot, sometimes for effect, mostly by accident.
