This is Debbie Jankowski of Debbie's Chocolates in Crisfield. She volunteered her time to greet passengers from one of the cruise boats that docks on the city dock. Each departing passanger received a crab necklace, map, and a warm Crisfield smile.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce take turns greeting passengers, handing out necklaces, giving directions, and answering questions. It is nice to live in a town where busy people pitch in and help out.
You can't find a better bunch of friendly people anyway.

great idea,
Sounds like a Heavenly town to me... I'll bet the tourists love the attention! Great marketing of the town...
I want to be getting of the boat!
Hi
Wow what a really nice thing to do.
That boat is so inviting right now.
Of course anywhere other than Texas is calling me today .
We have been stuck in an early heat wave pattern.
Thank you for sharing .
Have a fabulous summer.
Happy Trails
Your community sounds so charming Patty! It makes me want to visit.
Ka Pai aka good job to your volunteer. I am sure the crab necklace will be the talk of every party the tourist have.
I like to be your tourist, I like it even better to have a take away meal of yummy crab. LOL
In Auckland, we have a lot of retired people working a volunteers in the airport. Ka Pai to them.
The charm is unbounded there in Crisfield! I feel like if I were there, I'd never stop smiling :)
There is real community spirit in Crisfield and it shines through in every one of your blogs, Patty. I hope you always manage to keep that sunny Crisfield attitude.
The perfect job!
If I ever get to Crisfield, I know just the job for me. This greeting of passengers!! I love doing things like that, cuz I love to chat with people, be friendly, meet new faces. Hubby is the backbone of our business, but I am the social end of it, enjoying chatting with our guests, finding out where they come from and where they are headed next. I love summer for all the interesting people I get to meet. hugs from afar, Debby
I love the "small town charm" of Crisfield. I'm glad that there are still people that go out of their way to be nice to strangers. :)
What a swell job!!
Hugs,
Marilyn
