Friday "My Town" Shoot Out: In Honor of Matilda in Australia

"Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy little baby.
When you wake, you shall have,
All the pretty little horses.
Blacks and bays, dapples and greys,
Go to sleepy you little baby,
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy little baby.
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy little baby,
When you wake, you shall have,
All the pretty little horses."

"Mama" Sarah Lulu in Australia was chosen to pick this week's photo assignment. Lulu chose the letter "M" in honor of her new granddaughter, Matilda. And since, I still have a bad ankle and a bad Dell computer (still under warranty) that has locked me out of my hard drive until the technician can make a 5th call to my house, hopefully, this weekend, I was at a loss for anything, and almost did not do this assignment.

But, since I had to hobble to an assignment for the newspaper on Thursday, and since my husband had to drive me and carry my gear, we left early and I shot some very generic "M's" and threw them on my laptop. I just could not bring myself to miss an assignment. Reggie Girl would kill me. And what would Matilda think of me?

So without further ado, I present to you the letter "M" in things around our town. Welcome to the world, Matilda. Not exactly a shoot for a little girl, but see all those "M's?"

A list of Friday shooters can be found on the sidebar. If you are not listed, please go to our shoot out site and sign up there - just leave a message in the last post. You can also find next week's assignment, and info on our shoot outs.

Patty,

I especially like the Merc on the Mako, and I bet you could have photoshopped Marina into Matilda, if you'd had your real computer!

Of course you'd do the shootout! I think that you would find a way to do the shootout if had to come to each one of our houses individually and draw it in magic marker on our computer screens. You've got that can-do news hound gene big time! And to think, I almost believed yesterday that you might miss it. And you are the third person posting. Hah!

Thanks all. I was a little embarrassed to throw on these point and shoot from the car window photos, but I would have been more embarrassed to miss a shoot.

I would have had Crabby Crab do the shoot (actually, he did do some shooting but his photos are locked away in the main computer) but sometimes he needs a little assistance, which means I have to get down on his level, which means bending my ankle and that hurts!

I have a big weekend of shooting, and I am not sure how I am going to do it. Oh yes, with a little help from my husband. He can carry gear good. I just wish he could shoot.

How cool you got all those 'M's! I was going to do this, but then thought hmmm, are we suppose to shoot 'M' subjects? Okay did I just say the same thing, lol

I am giddy on Texas right now!

:) I did post this week, on skidato.blogspot

I totally didn't show off my town though, mostly because my town sucks!

Next time, I will do better.

Yes, I saw some dead critters. :( Simply Heather has one of her cat looking extremely smug about his kill, and I couldn't help but laugh.

:)

Have a magnificent weekend, and I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that your computer problems disappear! Also, that your ankle heals quickly.

Patty a big SORRY - last night I put the comment on your blog after a long night and said - reggie girl- terrible, terrible. But wrong name or not I enjoyed the quick and easy "M"s. I doublt I will make Maryland... I will be luck to reach Virgina then I take my 87 year old mother to Michigan - it is only 7 hours but we have to do it slow and easy probably two days.... then back to Texas to get Marissa back for a dance camp. next time I promise

Patty,

Hope you are feeling better.

Like to do a swap? I send over my Chinese Doctor to massage you, and you sent me some of those yummy soft shell crabs that you are tempting me?

Take care, don't run too much.

Cheers,

Ann

More great photos. It has been fun seeing what diffrerent folks come up with. A bunch of different themes.

Is that the little seafood place on 13 near Bloxom and Mears? We stop there every time we drive up 13. Great seafood.
