Our son lives off Wheel Road in Bel Air. During my travels, I meet a lot of people from Bel Air, and the talk sometimes leads to Wheel Road. Anyone who lives in Bel Air, knows where Wheel Road is. Due to the rapid growth in Bel Air, Wheel Road, aptly named for its dangerous curves, is finally being widened and straightened. About time, I say.  It is also a narrow road - dangerously narrow - and huge trees practically reach out for you as you travel the road.


Wheel Road is closed to thru traffic. If you live out of the area, and plan on visiting Bel Air and using Wheel Road as a shortcut, you may want to rethink your travel plans.

Messy work. It is estimated that it will take 12 months to complete the new, improved, and safer Wheel Road: 6 months for the western side and another 6 months for the eastern side.
