Heat index values in Crisfield and around the East Coast
Stay cool this weekend
From NOAA:
AIR QUALITY ALERT.
EXPECT A BRIEF REPRIEVE FROM VERY HOT TEMPERATURES TODAY AS
NORTHEAST WINDS KEEP TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 90S. HEAT
INDEX VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO REACH INTO the UPPER 90S TO 101 ALONG THE SHORES OF
CHESAPEAKE BAY. LOW TEMPERATURES WILL ONLY FALL INTO THE MID TO
UPPER 70S LATE TONIGHT.
HOT TEMPERATURES WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEKEND. EXPECT HIGH
TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 90S TO LOWER 100S AND LOW TEMPERATURES IN
THE MID TO UPPER 70S...WHICH WILL PROVIDE LITTLE RELIEF FROM THE
HEAT. HEAT INDEX VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO REACH 100 TO 109 DEGREES
DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING HOURS...AND COULD
POTENTIALLY REACH 112 DEGREES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
