Work Shoes

I saw these work shoes sitting on a porch and had to take a photo of them. Thought it would be a good way to start your Saturday.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Get out and plant some seeds this weekend!

Well chosen photoshop affect. As for planting seeds this weekend, I'm sorry but I hate yardwork, which is, I assume, what you meant by planting seeds. I think.

I love the look of old shoes sitting on the porch -just waiting there for the wearer to put them back on and do their thing *smiling*

great photo, sometime show us the original, then your options of special effects and talk about why you chose the final. would love to hear it.

Butler and Bagman: No. That is not what I meant.

I hate yard work, too. I really hate yard work. So many creative things one can be doing or places they could be going than digging in the dirt.

bARE: Nah. It was pretty easy. But thanks.

Noe Noe: Thanks.

Gigi: I sure did. We were going down the road and the light was just right and I yelled at my husband, "STOP." He is used to that, poor thing.

Kathryn: Yes. The do like they are just sitting there resting.

GingerV: Argghh! Now when will I have time to do that? I would love to have time to write down what lens I used, settings, etc. Gosh, I have hardly have time to throw something on now.

I would like to have the time to teach people the things I know, but sometimes I have to take time to remind myself what I know.

Have a great Sunday!

You do come up with the most fantastic sayings, inspired by the simplest of photo shots, Well the shot is not simple but the focus item is!! The older I get the more I believe in this saying of yours, that it is not the harvest that counts at the end of the day, but the seeds you have planted. I think it takes experience in life, a bit of aging, and a whole lot of learning to be able to believe in that. young people aren't that far yet!! Some how I love the fact that all this wisdom is waiting for them some where on down the road of life!! Debby

I think this great post calls for a poem.....

PLANTERS

A tiny acorn in the wild
Is somewhat like a little child.
Small children need our loving care,
But, for an acorn, help is rare.
It takes a planter, kind and wise,
To hear their silent, fervent cries.
If we could like the planter be,
And take the time to save a tree,
Or help a child grow strong and tall,
They both would surely bless us all.
It takes a planter to invoke
The spirit of a mighty oak.
So, may we always do our part
To teach a child a child in mind and heart.
As planters, may we live to see
An endless oaken canopy.

Patty, you are one of our best planters.

What a wonderful poet you are, Gordon. You really need to write a book. I will buy one!

Thanks for thinking of me and for taking the time to write this poem.

I am not good with plants or at fishing, but I try to spread a little joy whenever I can.
