Get Ready for Our "My Town" Shoot Out!

Tomorrow is "My Town" shoot out day. The assignment is local foods, restaurants, and watering holes. If you have not already jumped on board our shoot out train, hop on and join us. Every Friday we take you around the world to visit wonderful places, and you don't even have to leave your home! Everyone is welcome, there are no rules; we just have fun highlighting our towns.

Since we are a bit confused as to who should pick the next assignment, let's do an "open" assignment for next Friday - April 24. Everyone pick their own assignments. Show us what you've got! Remember you can post a few photos or a whole bunch.

Me and Reggie Girl started the shoot out a few months ago; then people started to join in, and we decided to let participants pick assignments by alphabetical order. That worked for awhile until more people joined in. So, I propose to put all known participant's names in a hat, picking a name each week, then putting that name aside. New participant's names will be kept separately, and when the hat is empty, I will dump all the names in and start anew.

This is becoming a movement, folks. Don't be shy! Jump in and join the fun. The train leaves every Friday!

Disclaimer: We don't have any trains in Crisfield. Not any more. My husband took this photo of me in Princess Anne, about 20 minutes up the road. I love to play on trains. After I stow away on one of the boats that Chesapeake Boat Builders build, and after I cruise the Caribbean until I am caught and escorted home by Sgt. Lonnie Luedtke, I might become a train hobo, sending you photos from around this great country of ours.

Speaking of Lonnie, let me take a moment to thank the Crisfield City Police for a job well done each and every day.

Thanks, Lonnie! Marines make great police officers. They also make good American Legion commanders. We have a beautiful American Legion (Post #16) in Crisfield, right on the bay, with a million dollar view.

Lonnie, I did not spray paint that train. It was Reggie Girl in Georgia. Or perhaps it was Bagman in South Carolina. No. I am sure it was Hensly in Hawaii, or maybe...Do I have to take a lie detector test?

Well done Patty! Now that my weekdays are jammed with meetings, I have to carefully plan my photo excusions. I know what I'm going to shoot this week, so I'll be trying to post late tonight and get ahead of the curve on it!

Oh, and a friend of mine has a barely adult son who, with a buddy, hopped the rails to Anaheim this last weekend, to get into Disneyland free on his birthday. They also snuck into the back side of the jungle ride and slept there that night, dodging security guards, and having lots of adventure.

Great idea picking names.......who's going to pick from the names in the hat? We could take turns if you like or something. Either way is good for me. Lots of people are joining this week so it should be really interesting. Always is though!! Love seeing the other town's goods....though nowhere beats my Newnan (gonna say Crisfield's right up there though, lol)
An open subject sounds good for a change.
Great photo-shopping on the train by the way, lol.
See ya tomorrow and......

Steady On
Reggie Girl

My grandfather was a train hopper back in the day. He told us many stories, of riding the train from Arizona to LA. Gram-ma would chime in, telling us how handsome he was in his Zoot Suit, and he would grin, with a whistful look in his eye he would continue the story...

Now don't you look cute?! I am having serious camera envy.

Kim: I could be a hobo or a gypsy. I guess I really was once, just a paid hobo/gypsy with a bunch of camera gear instead of a sack of clothes. Heck my camera bag carried my clothes, too, on some assignments. I so miss the road.

You should tell some of your grandfather's hobo stories on your blog.

Reggie Girl: I will email ya!

Willow: Thanks. It would be great if you could join us in our shoot outs. We're going places (literally and figuratively).

I'll be boarding the train tomorrow as a passenger, riding through all the amazing towns! Should be a great trip.

Well aren't you the cutest hobo I've seen in a while. I hope I can get it all together for Friday's shoot out.

Joanne: Welcome aboard the "My Town" Express.

Gigi: Thanks. That is my uniform. I don't think the people of Crisfield would recognize me in "real" clothes. I do dress up good, though.

Cool, an open subject, that would be awesome! Wonder what all of us would put up!

I enlarged the graffiti photo, it looks real! If it was created on Photoshop, it looks awesome!

Oh- How do I find out what the week's theme is? I can never I loved the boats! It's hard to get different shots around here unless you drive all over and the traffic is just terrible. I'm thinking I need to be more creative! I love boats! My husband is a Navigator on a submarine- but we aren't allowed to take pictures of them:) Great post!seem to find it?
