Don't Forget Church Photo Day on Friday!

All you shutter bugs, and professionals out there: Remember, Friday is "church photo day." Reggie Girl and I are shooting different subjects each week in our "My Town Shoot-Out" (do you like that Reggie Girl?).

This week, the subject is churches. I try to post around ten photos, Reggie Girl likes to outdo me, but you can shoot just a couple if you don't have a lot of time, or churches, in your area.

I have received a few emails from other bloggers who wanted to participate...everyone is welcome. The following week, we are doing people.

It is nice to be able to take a virtual stroll through other people's home towns.

Basir, it would be great if you could join us, too.

And I know that Barry can dig out some photos!

See Ya'll in church on Friday!

Note: I took the photo of this church last summer. It has been abandoned for many years. I keep hoping someone will buy it and fix it up before it falls in. It has the most beautiful stained-glass windows, what is left of them.

The church is not in Crisfield (you didn't think I would post a photo from my town before Friday, did you?), but it is in our county.

I wish so much that I was up and about and could take part. Look at all the fun that I am missing out on by being layed up with this bum knee!! But I look forward to seeing all the posts/photos of churches. What fabulous pics await us all!!

Missy: I commented under the wrong photo. Do join us if you can.

Pink Bird House: We hope you will be up soon, too. Glad we can cheer you up with our little photos until you get better,

You must be doing some sewing! Can't wait to see your next project!

2L3B: Great! See you on Friday. I haven't even started. Don't tell Reggie Girl. It's too darned cold to go outside!

Reggie Girl: Well, I'd rather be an Arm Shark than a Jam Shark (or a Sign Shark). I wrote that with a John Wayne accent.

Someone call Ellen!

There is a mormon temple near me that I will try to get out and photograph on Friday. Fun idea to give out an assignment. :)

That sounds like a good one, Michelle. Even one will do. It just gives people a chance to see what is doing around the globe without spending any money. And in this economy, we might all be vacationing like this.

Remember, we are doing people next week. You can take photos of people on the streets, or a photo of your waiter (if you are eating out), or the person who serves you at a drive-in window, or a shop owner, or one of your fireman or policeman. Whatever you would like to do to showcase your town.

Reggie Girl, you pick the next assignment, and then we all take turns!

It is going to be a movement!

Nice church pic.

I like yesterday's icicle and puffy sun, too. Who needs a polarizer. It was a great pic.

Thanks Reya. Hope you can join us in our weekly photo shoot-out.

Barry does have photos, but Barry is one of the worlds most inept photographers. Put camera on automatic settings, point, click. Why is that a picture of my nose? Turn camera around, point click.

However I will do my best.

Barry: Don't be so hard on yourself. You do a great job with your photos. The point is to show off your town. So go ahead and point, click.

I pick old houses for the next assignment. Has anyone called Ellen yet?? Somebody needs to call Ellen about this "Shoot-Out" business pardner. I'm too busy.......somebody else do it. Besides, they told me to stop calling her all of the time. Something about a restraining order or a legal document. Whatever, I'm just going to block my phone number from her caller ID the next time I call......

Old homes......after people, Okay?

You're on for old homes. One of our shoot-out partners can be the next one to pick our weekly assignment.

Oh, I may have to post my church photos late tonight because I have a full day tomorrow. Also, I may not have time to do a lot of postings until Tuesday because I am going to our son's house in Bel Air, Maryland early Sunday morning. It's my birthday! I'll be...

I do have a broadband laptop, so will keep in touch.

Who needs Ellen? Let's call Oprah!

Hey BayBoy: Great photos. The snow photo is super. And the Ape Hole colors are really nice. You did not say where the other photo was taken. I liked it, too.

I sent you a link so you could post them at the newspaper's web site. Since you are a local boy, I know the newspaper would love to post your photos. They have several categories for submitted photos.

Keep that camera handy for anything interesting you see. Sometimes citizens can beat the photographers to a scene, or capture fascinating light in photos like you have done.

Keep clicking!

Has it warmed up on your side of town yet? The front porch steps finally cleared of ice today.

Everyone: I thought I was going to post my churches early, meaning this evening, but it has been a long day, so I will be posting tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be a long day, too, but it is Friday, and that is when the assignment is due. A good photographer never misses a deadline, and tomorrow is Friday All day!

2L3B: Thanks for the birthday wishes! I know you said to hold your little package until you moved. Is that still right? If it gets lost, I can always send another to your new home.

What a nice surprise to get a birthday gift from someone in China!
