Opening day of the 2011 Little League season in Crisfield

Opening day of the 2011 Little League season  in Crisfield
Nothing says spring like Little League. The  first crack of a bat against a ball officially announces the departure of Old Man Winter.  But wait. Today was damp and windy and cold. Brrr. Still, the parade went on (I thought it was at 10:00 a.m.), kids lined up for team announcements and photos, parents snapped photos of kids in clean uniforms, the smell of hot dogs and hamburgers cooking on the grill permeated the air, the National Anthem was played, the first pitch was thrown, and the bat cracked the ball. Suddenly, all was well with the world. We forgot how cold we were, and instead of looking for rain clouds, all eyes were on America's favorite past-time.

Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who support the children.  A special thanks to the sponsors who always give generously.

I hope you enjoy some of the random photos I took this morning. I wish I could have photographed everyone, but I had to move on. Please allow time for the slide-show to load. Refresh the page to view again. If you click on the screen, you will be taken away from this site.
