“Exercise is the chief source of improvement in our faculties” ~ Hugh Blair
After the holidays we all begin the traditional regiments of walking, jogging, exercising, and yes, the dreaded diet. During the holidays large stores tempted us with sweets and fattening foods as we walked in the doors. Now we are greeted with diet foods. And if you look around, towards the middle of the stores, you will see the Valentine's candy is already out and will soon be pushed to the front to tempt us. But we just bought all that diet food. Ah, the power of corporate marketing.
So get up and get out, like this guy, and get ready for spring. Sounds strange to be talking about spring, but as Stephen King wrote in his book My Pretty Pony, "Time ain't got nothing to do with how fast you can count." The book is about the nature of time: how when you grow up, it begins to move faster and faster, slipping away from you in great chunks.
Oh, and the flat terrain in Crisfield is a great place to get in a little jogging time.

Thanks for the reminder...I'm still finishing off a box of chocolates. :(
Patty, you're correct I need to exercise too because of too many potluck parties I attended ;-)last holiday. And it's true the Valentine candies are now in the grocery stores right after 1st of Jan LOL
I was out already this morning walking the dog and enjoying the snow, Went for a long walk yesterday too and enjoyed not only the exercise but the time to chat with my daughter uninterrupted! The dog's antics made us both laugh. I definitely need to move more, get these extra pounds off. After all the knee surgeries and too much sitting around, I have put on tooooo many extra lbs. I hope I can ignore the goodies that all too often tempt me! Happy New Year to you dear friend. I hope you are staying warm and dry, and happy. hugs, debby
Yup, correct.
Ive got my dinner suit to get into, lol.
Nope. I refuse.
I really want to pursue jogging or running or brisk walking if I have free time. Or I need to have time for that. Keep going.I love Crisfield!
It looks so nice and green there, do you normally get a snowy winter, or is this the norm?
A Scattering: I was just getting in my car when this man came jogging down my the road. I have never seen him before - he may have been visiting someone.
We have a lot of pines in the area. Snow? We don't really get a lot. The bay helps us out a bit. They get more only 20 minutes up the road.
It is cold, though. Not Canada cold. But cold enough to keep me in if I don't have to go out.
