I had planned on doing something special to go with the above quote but time is always my enemy, especially in the summer months. I have always loved that line, so even though it does not partner well with my photos, I decided to leave it.
This assignment comes from us in Linda in Canada. I don't have much for you, but I hope you enjoy my mix of filtered and unfiltered photos.
This is a drug dog at work. Animals have wonderful texture.
A wildflower field on a windy day, filtered.
A seafood dish with scrumptious texture.
Another seafood dish. We have lots of those in Crisfield!
A really filtered photo of the bay. Bagman, did you hack my computer?
A little textured fun from our annual Crab Derby race. See last post for dates. Be there!
I love the texture of old wood.
A filtered crab. Yes, I shoot lots of crabs. After all, Crisfield is the, "Crab Capitol of the World." Really!
Filtered crab shanty.
Little girls know how to "texturize."
Birds enjoying the sunset. Filtered.
Please note: I am not going to have much time for the next few weeks to participate in the shoot outs. If I can squeeze something in, I will. I will be visiting, though, catching up on missed blogs, and making posts.
ChefE has filled in for Gordon this week, and she has done a great job. So ChefE, if you don't mind, can you pick up my slack. And please stay on as one of our team members. Chime in anytime.

just checked to see who has put up their post, I like all of your photos, the filtered ones are very nice, look almost like water colors. I actually think you could have put up the quote and the first photo and it would have been great. I had to enlorge to see it was wood with pealing paint. EXCELLENT!
Oh Patty, as always - great shots. My favorites are the wood ones as well - lots of beautiful texture. And, as a huge fan of crab, I of course loved all of those shots - would have loved tasting them more than looking at them thogh! Ah well...maybe one day I will get to the Crab Capital of the World!
I guess I am kind of cheating looking at what you guys have done before I put mine up, but since I just got back from my trip and was not feeling well, I am using things I took for it along the Chisholm trail...
Patty, Love the Shanty - the way you filtered it makes it really stand out. I also like the girls in red and gold - very cute!
Nice!!
I'm getting to love crab photographs! And the shanty.
Excellent as usual Patty, I loved the filtered photo of the crab shanty. I get the impression if I reached out to touch it I could actually feel the wooden surface.
I thought I posted a comment earlier...so if I have two...well, I guess since I'm multi-personalitied it's okay...I'm growing attached to crabs! And your use of texturing is fun!
You've got me hungry for some crab cakes, Patty. Not to mention, hungry for the sea. I've got to get me to a beach, pronto!
I loved your photos, especially the sunset one. Have a great weekend!
You've captured some really great photos here, Patty. I like old wood too...and those crabs running, now thats a giggle.
Happy Friday :)
I'm diggin' that crab derby race. That one front and center, standing tall, looks like he's about to overtake the others. Has the Triple Crown glow ...
I loved that yall have a crab derby! That is to fun. I need to learn how to use a filter I guess because these are just gorgous!
Blessings on your weekend.
Love them all! Especially the filtered crab shanty and the little girls smiles!!!
;^)
Thank you for sharing!
I love the old wood and shanty!
Just started going through the photo essays on textures. One neat thing about them is the different takes on the topics. Really fascinating. Great pictures.
Oh wonderful shots!! I loved them all!! SO glad you shot lots of crabs..not so many out here in Idaho!! Wonderful set of textures!!
Hugs, Sarah
Great job, Patty. Wonderful photos!
The food is making me hungry!

Dan
Patty, I really enjoy looking at your photos, not just because they are good pictures, but also because they are imbued with the community. I get a good feeling of Crisfield.

I'm coming to Crisfield to eat!
Great quote to start. I always love your photos--they have a professional quality that I really admire!
Love the crab derby...
LOl, crab derby, I can't believe it. I hope the winner lives a ripe off age and be bronzed after that. Not end up in the pot like other crabs.
I was a week in Singapore, but has yet eaten their famous chilli crab. Now in Malaysia. I must eat some before I leave.
You have a good holidays.
