My 400th Blogger Post -Yellow Flowers

"How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun." ~ Vincent Van Gogh

I chose the color "yellow" for my 400th post because it is the color of optimism and happiness. Today, I am an extra-happy person because I am now "officially" retired. I moved my retirement up a few weeks because I have things I would like to do before I take two upcoming trips - I will schedule Crisfield posts using the Blogger schedule tool while I away.

FYI: I bought a negative scanner and brought home a few thousand negatives I had stored at our son's house. Most of them are from my "old days" as a photojournalist, and I have set up a separate blog site to post these non-Crisfield photos. You photo bugs might enjoy visiting my new site. Posts on that site will be random for awhile, as I have a lot to do,  and a lot of negatives to go through. I hope to get my banner up this week.

Back to my theme: The color yellow is  considered to be the happiest color in the color spectrum. I know I was happy when I saw this this yellow balloon, tied to an open-house sign, bobbing up and down in the wind in this field of yellow. I hope it makes your "Blue Monday" a little happier.

I would have liked to have lingered and captured the flowers better, but there are times that capturing the moment is more important than  how you capture it. I was rushed, headed to another assignment -my last- on Saturday,  when I took this photo.

And no, I will not not be shutting this blog down.

enjoy your new life, I am sure we will be enjoying your photos.

Can you scan from Negatives?

Couple of years back, we were planning to return to New Zealand after 16 years in Singapore. My husband won't let me take my 26 years of life in 20 big alblems. Instead, i took the photos out and scaned for 2 years before I did it all. Now I am glad.

Nikki: Thanks for the congrats. I have so many on-the-burner projects, I am really going to be working harder, but on my own time. No more phones ringing for me to head out on an assignment.

Becky: Yes, I was inspired. Sometimes you just have to take a few minutes to capture what you see, although when in a rush, and not wanting to change lenses, you really don't capture what you see. But you capture the moment.

Keats: I just knew that would be your color, gal.

Gigi: Thanks for the post. I will be looking forward to visiting your blog on a regular basis as soon as I catch up on things.
