Rainy Day

It is a cloudy and rainy day in Crisfield, but people still get out and visit their favorite places.

At the city beach, people don't let a rainy day keep them from feeding the seagulls.

We have a lot of people in our town who make daily rounds, no matter what the weather, to feed the gulls, ducks, geese, and the homeless cats. A fine testament to the good-hearted people of our town.

“Never count your friends on sunny days for they all will be around. Count your friends on the rainy days when the clouds are grey and lightning shakes the ground."

This is neat, how you tie in the whole watercolor look with the rainy/cloudy day. So different!
That's really neat you showed my pictures to your husband!! What did he think? Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting :)

Thanks for asking. No worries though! I just haven't been to Panera for the free wi-fi lately ;)

I like this post; maybe because I'm experiencing the same Maryland weather right now, maybe because it's a nice thing to picture or maybe because of the quote.

Hope you're having a great week!

Crisfield sounds like a lovely place....people making rounds to feed our feathered and furred friends..how warm that sounds...

I love that quote too..

Jess: If I gave awards for finding some of the secrets in my photos, you would get one. I like to play with filters when I can, since I can't do that with newspaper work.

Yes, I thought a watercolor would be perfect.

Noelle: Yes. There is so much nature here and people love to interact with the wildlife.

We have a mobile spay clinic that comes round from time to time, but we still have so many stray cats. I am so happy that we have caring people who make their rounds each day to feed them.

We have five once homeless cats--or should I say they have us. They rule the house.

Patty, we have a mobile spay clinic in Newnan as well and Prince and I volunteer at our rescue group's rabie's clinic. Nothing is more rewarding.
Okay about the snaps......since I can't beat, or even match you, at photography skills.....I challenge you to a jelly making contest thingy. Whenever, whatever kind. You choose. Don't be scared okay?
Bring it on!!! (okay you have to let me get moved first, lol)

Reggie Girl: I give you the jelly making contest award in advance of tasting your jelly. I am not the best of cooks.

I can make a really good pot of chowder using a local cookbook (I will post some info on local cookbooks one day), but I don't think that would travel well.

You can't mess up a sign photo. Instead of letting the camera take the picture, let the sign make the picture.

Too bad you left the area before I started this blog. I would love to meet you and Prince. Now, there you are in the state we left!

Take good care of those strays.

It's so good to know you're out there blogging from the Eastern Shore. You live in a truly magical, mythical landscape. Bravo!!

I'm looking out our kitchen window at last nights new snow fall and the nearly empty bird feeder hanging from the tree. Reading about the dedication of your fellow town folk in Crisfield, I'm off to put on my hat and coat and boots and refill that feeder.

Yeah, Pie Crust Queen was all that I could think up on shor notice Patty. Truthfully, I had a little flash of hurt feelings for about a nanosecond you know?

It's on about the 10 best signs.

The chowder sounds splendid......I wish we had all gotten together while we were still up that way too. Well, our lives ain't over yet Crabby Girl.....who knows? :)

Thank you, Reva. We have lots of treasures. Some can be found in food, some in the people, and some in the scenic beauty that is all around us.

OK, Pie Crust Queen.

I am getting one sign today for our little contest.

"Chowder" sounds so good I am going to have to go Linton's Seafood, and get some crab meat. Problem is, I went on one of those cleaning binges and cleared everything off my kitchen counter top. Now, I can't find one of my favorite cookbooks.

I am going to have to do some extra digging because the weatherman says it feels like 18 outside. No better day for chowder than a day like today.

No. I can't cook without a cookbook.

Bravo, Barry! But somehow I get the idea that you are the kind of guy who would never let your birds go hungry, especially on a cold, snowy day in Canada.
