Crisfield "My Town" Shoot Out -Celebrate Life

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~ Howard Thurman

I have been a little busy, so excuse the lack of commentary. Also, I usually schedule my shoot in advance so it will post late on Thursdays, but it did not work the last two times. Since a lot of people will be traveling this weekend, I am hitting the "Publish Post" button now. Enjoy!

These photos were taken at the Crisfield Elks Lodge on rib night. Nothing better than sitting around with friends and enjoying a good meal.

These are random photos of people enjoying life.

“Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.” ~ James Dean

Doreen in Michigan was chosen to pick this week's assignment. Since it is a holiday weekend, I think she picked a wonderful subject. Thanks Doreen!

For an updated list of our shooters, and to find out how to join out little gang, check out our information site.

Assignment for the July 10, can be found there as well.

Everyone have a great weekend, and "Celebrate life!"

Oh, I will be late getting around to everyone this weekend because it will a busy weekend for me.

Thanks to Gordon for keeping the motor running on our Friday shoot outs!

I hope you have a beautiful 4th of July weekend.

Such fun lively photos you posted.

It's freezing cold and winter here and I'm starting to move house today.

I'll be mindful to do it with the spirit of joy.

Oh Patty, I loved your post - it made me hungry, and not just for the food, but for that wonderful sense of community that radiates so clearly through the pictures. I am totally impressed with the baseball shot! WOW!
Have a wonderful 4th of July!

even though your photos are always nice I always have favorites, the first one is wonderful - is it a composite or did you just get lucky with the salute/flag/ fireworks all in one frame? the second on is the little boy with green hat fishing from a pier. what a nice photo that is. have a great weekend. Great shoot-out, Patty. I loved the one of the older guying oohing --- I don't know how else to describe it. And the golf cart going upstairs. And the rest. I've missed you. Hope to be back in the routines next week, although have also loved being gone.

GingerV: No trickery in the flag/ salute photo. It is all in one frame. Tripod, a slow shutter speed with quick burst of off camera flash, and a good subject who heard me say, "Hold that pose and don't move." made the shot work.

Glad you liked it. I have to try and outdo myself this year.

Linda: Oh, I will be there for their big Cruise and Crab event. Elks members from all over come for a crab and seafood dinner and then go on a bay cruise.

As much as everyone loves crabs, they couldn't eat them all the time.

I was at Linton's Seafood yesterday, and they had boxes and boxes of crabs, packed in dry ice, being labeled to go out all over the US, some as far as away as Hawaii. The UPS man was loading them onto his truck as fast as he could. I was thinking how lucky we are to have crabs right in our own back yard.

Butler and Bagman: Missed you, too, my friend. The older guy is Dan. He is the head man during our most famous crab races. He is a sweetheart, too. Always so pleasant.

Sarah Lulu: Winter?! Burrr. Happy house moving. Stay warm.

Audry: Yes, we do a great community here.

All: Wish I had time to answer everyone but have to run. Thanks. I will get around to visiting all your sites soon.

HAPPY 4th!
