Crisfield, Maryland Bay Photos

"I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over."
~ John Masefield

Yes. I have a sea poem with bay photos. But this is one of my favorite poems.

My time has been limited lately, and I will have less time over the next several weeks, but I will still be posting and visiting. I apologize. Also, after over six weeks of dealing with Dell, and having everything in my computer replaced, I am still having problems with random shutdowns (not reboots - shutdowns). Dell messed around so long they finally corrupted Windows (I got a new hard drive out of that) and even the in-home tech support guy was scratching his head after 5 visits. I had to call on my son, who is a Microsoft Engineer, to make a three hour trip to do a lot of cleaning up so I could find things. Dell finally agreed to send me a new computer but I have to wait until the weekend so my son can come down and move my files to the new computer. He also has me so high-teched-up I would not know where to start in order to get everything working again.

Another reason I have fallen behind is that all of my photos are stored in my main computer, so I try to use it as little as possible because the more it shuts down, the more chance I have of corrupting Windows again. I use my main computer for newspaper photos because I have dual monitors and they are both high resolution. My laptop is used to access my main computer when it is working and to send photos to the newspaper when I am on the road. Not the best for working with photos, but it beats running back to the house when I have a tight deadline.

I did managed to sneak in a little time on the boat this weekend. Here are a few photos for your enjoyment.

Crisfield. What a wonderful place to live!

Joanne: Thanks. I was shooting in a moving boat and turned around around and there they were. I hardly had time to adjust, and only got one chance with the lens I had.

What a contrast between computer problems and nature. I'm glad it was the water and the boats you chose to photograph and not the Dell!

Glad to hear they are coming through with a new computer for you.

Barry. Yes. It was a contrast, wasn't it? I am glad we have a boat. Going out on it is like dry cleaning for the brain. All the work (and the computer problems) are left on land. Unfortunately, my son can not make it until next weekend so I have one more week to go. But I have a pretty new computer to look at during that time!

Hi dear friend, while the kids are busy this afternoon and the guests on our campground are entetaining themselves, I am taking the time to visit my favorite people! Thanks for the comment recently, just seeing how things are with me. I can relate to you being so busy!! Summer is like that for me to. When others are slowing down for the summer months, taking it easy, my own life picks up speed! And then they wonder why I do not have time to get togehter with them. :-) I am so in love with that photo of the herons/igrets in flight. Wow, that is a stunning. I can picture that one enlarged and hanging on my wall!!! hope all is well with you, thinking of you, (you too are one of my "true blue" friends. Let's don't lose sight of each other, no matter how busy we get!) Any word from ReggieGirl? Debby

The perspective makes the dragonfly look HUGE. Great shots. Gray says Hi!
