Crisfield, Maryland

Crisfield City dock.

I am posting a quick photo in hopes that the person who left a post with questions about living in Crisfield will leave another post. I accidentally deleted it, along with your email

Yes, this is a great place to live if you like living at the end of the world. Small town politics abound (and, in my opinion, keep the town from growing), shopping is 45 minutes away, there are problems in the projects that are located directly across from the marina, drugs have found their way into the town; I, personally, would not want to put a child in the school system, winters are boring, there is no art scene and no plans to build the town on that sorely needed concept, and the few events they do have leave you searching for outside activities. And don't forget the flooding. There is good seafood, but I would not move here for that.

On the bright side, housing is cheap.

Well, I guess it wasn't you Marilyn. LOL. I am wondering if the person posted on an older post and it is lost somewhere. Yikes. I would have to wade through everything to find it.

You live in a great place, too, gal. But do think about visiting us one day and enjoying some small town flavor, not to mention our crabs.

lovely photos of a charming town. I live in Poolesville, MD (no where near the Bay).

The more you post the bigger and bigger Chrisfield seems to be! Your photos are expanding it into a whole universe of itself.

Patty - you do have a beautiful town. What is the range of temperatures summer vs. winter. And does it tend to be sunny or cloudy. Your photos are almost always sunny - is that an indecator or a choice. have a great day.
and by the way I would let you use the Rio apartment for a few days - update your passport and your almost here. hugs for Brasil

Excellent description of what you like about Crisfield. And you did not even start to dwell on the seafood. Certainly makes us want to be there.

I have always loved travelling. And I'm going to miss travelling like I used to, because with our animal menagerie now, it's just not so easy. I used to go on so many road trips, many by myself or with my dog. If I could, I would jump in the car today and road trip to Crisfield!!!

Joanne: Thanks for the comment. I know we all get bogged down with our blogging sometimes, and it is hard to play catch up. I sometimes lag behind and feel guilty, but I love you all!

Butler and Bagman: Crisfield is a Universe unto itself. There are all kinds to things to be discovered in Crisfield, and just a short drive out of the city limits. It is all in the senses, my friend. Some people pass little jewels all the time, never knowing what they are missing.

Some people complain about things in their towns. Some people want change. Some people don't want change. Me? I just enjoy what is around me.

Reggie Girl: Well, we will take you all over the place when you visit us!

GingerV: In the summer, we are tropical. In the winter, it can get cold, but not New York cold. It is not bad at all.

As for my sunny photos. Hey, no one is paying me to do this. I have to go out in bad days for the newspaper, but on my own time I like to go out on sunny days. Of course, if I see something special I will break in any kind of weather.

Passport is updated. Whoo hoo! I need to get a thong. I am on my way to Brazil!

Si: Crabs, crabs, crabs, crabs! You gotta come to Crisfield when The Olde Crab and Steak House opens. It used to be Side Street. That is going to be one nice place with crabs, crabs, crabs, crabs. Oh, and steak if you like. It opens Memorial Day weekend.

Oz Girl: I miss travel, too. Well, my travel was on overseas assignments. I always had my husband at home to care for the animals. It is a pill to pack up our cats and take them to our son's house 3 hours away and dump them on him. They don't like it, either. I am a gypsy at heart but I am sucker for homeless animals.
