Happy Memorial Day from Crisfield, Maryland

"The secret of Happiness is Freedom, and the secret of Freedom, Courage." ~ Thucydides

A patriotic Crisfield resident readies his flag for Memorial Day weekend.

I will be busy shooting this weekend, so I will not be able to do any postings until late Monday or Tuesday. I will leave you with a few pre-Memorial Day shots.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and takes time out of their busy schedules to remember those who gave their lives for our freedoms.

How wonderful to see a "V" for Victory painted in the sky at the entrance to the city. The rest of the photos were taken at our city cemetery.

"And each man stands with his face in the light of his own drawn sword. Ready to do what a hero can." ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY to you too, Patty. Not a holiday here, but we have a similar one coming up at us next weekend, so we are hoping to book up the campground for the long weekend. If weather continues to stay nice as it is now, chances are good! :-) Debby

Patty,

I love that the USA decorates the soldier's graves on Memorial Day. We have only Remembrance Day in November in Canada. I have been to the US on the Memorial Day weekend and the cemeteries always look so beautiful. A magnificent tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Blessings,
Mary

Great shots and thanks for honoring our heroes, happy memorial day. Although we are here in Japan we still have a holiday on base, we have a 3 day weekend to celebrate Memorial day (actually 4 day weekend, Friday was a down day in Misawa Air Base).
