Thank you, my friend. It is fun to play sometimes, but I feel guuilty because any newspaper photo editor that I have known would have thrown something like this back in my face. News photographers can never filter anything unless it is for special illustrations. However, I see more and more magazines using special effects on photos that go with mainstream stories, even some heavy filtering thrown in. National Geographic recently had a spread about a swamp somewhere, and the photographer had swirled the water in an editing program, so to the point that looking at it made me dizzy. It was a bit much for this old-school gal, but things are changing in the print media, and I guess they have to keep up with technology in order to survive.
