Since everyone liked the "big boy" baseball photo, here are the little ones gearing up for the Little League season at the Crisfield High School ball field. Each year, the Little Leaguers celebrate opening day by walking in a parade that ends at the high school.
"Who in their infinite wisdom decreed that Little League uniforms be white? Certainly not a mother." ~ Erma Bombeck
And not one white uniform to be seen!
I have to add this stickball photo here. Does anyone remember stickball?

Very cute photos! We don't have children, but Nalley umpired little league for years and these pics bring back fun memories!!!
Awww. Both our sons played little league baseball. I have such fond memories. You really got some cute shots, Patty.
Looks like the entire league did grey pants too, smart of them. You have no idea how thrilled I was to learn The Youngest was in grey pants this year!
What great photos!! We aren't too far from Williamsport, Pa & as you probably know that is where the World Series of Little League is played. We watch it & the winning team is so happy but the poor little guys who loose usually dissolve into tears.
They are all great players!!
Great Post!!

You've definitely captured the spirit of Little League, wonderful photos. I never played stickball, but used to love to play Kickball growing up. Nice memories. I haven't seen a Kickball game in ages.
Oww, such adorable photos! I agree to Erma Bombeck, white doesn't go along with kids. That's definitely a mother's opinion ;). Have a great day, Patty.
More great shots-I really like the black and whites.
What caught my eye in this series (aside from the standard gray pants which continue to be mothers' nightmares) was the eyes. I would click each picture to enlarge it and look at the sparkling eyes and the hopeful energy behind each one. Then, in huge contrast, I went back and clicked on some of your black and white shots of suffering overseas...what a difference! Made me want to cry.
Love them all!!! I love sports of any kind pretty much. Prince and I attend all of Cousin Four's ballgames (that actually sounds kind of like Cousin It doesn't it...I tell him that's what he reminds me of and he hits my arm, lol).
Any shots with kiddos are always fantastic.
Hugs to Huey and the gang :)

We spent 9 years at the ball field and have such fun memories of our boys playing. Down here the only draw back is the sand gnats!
Your colors are so bright and beautiful.
You made me to have more interest to know about crisfield, your place. I can say it's fun over there. The people and the place. I am looking forward to know and see more that's why I will keep coming here from now and and you seems nice.
I haven't play baseball ever since. That's one of the plays I missed. The kids are so happy. Thanks for sharing the fun photos.
Cute pictures and all those colorful uniforms! Brings back lots of great memories of my brother being invovled in little league baseball and me loving to go watch him play. A little sister could not have been more proud of her older brother then I ever was, and to this day when I am knee deep in troubles, I call big brother to give advice. He never steers me wrong. Well, off the beaten track there for a minute, but a good post of a real all-american sport!! No baseball here for kids, but lots and lots of soccer teams!! Debby
Wonderful shots! Love the vibrant colors set apart from the b&w's.
My sons were in little league until it became too serious. Both a very right brained and did not take to coaches who demanded too much practice.
However friends were made during this community time. I did my stint with other parents as a volunteer in the snack shop. FUN!
Just loved looking through this beautiful collection of pictures!
May there be lots of fun for all of you (and parents safely off the street)! :-)
