This week's Friday shoot out was assigned to us by Gordon in St. Augustine, Florida. Gordon's assignment was, "Paint the Town Red." Thanks Gordon. It was a fun shoot. I filtered a few photos for effect.
I chose Hensly from Hawaii to pick our May 29, assignment. Hensly has challenged us with "Water." Put your thinking hats on.
I have been working on a site, which is under construction, for newbies who want to join out shoot outs. Our "gang" is growing fast, and I get a lot of questions.
I have not had time to edit text, or add the list of shooters, but those who want to know all things about our Friday shoot outs, jump on over to the site. Reggie Girl, who started the shoot outs with me, is a team member.
Scroll down, left, for a list of participants. Now, on to to the color, "Red."
"Red door, what's that secret you're keeping?" (anyone remember the Green Door song?)
I love red farm equipment.
Click on photo to see town map located near the city dock.
canoes at the city beach.
Cute sign. Really no dog. Only crabs. Watch out!
Paint the town red at our annual J.M. Tawes Crab and Clam bake. For info, see sidebar for link to the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce.
The Cove Restaurant.
A red car passing by the cove restaurant.
Southern Connection Seafood. Yum!
Yea. Yea. I used the tomatoes in a Friday shoot out about food. But I had to include them again.
Whoo Hoo! Nothing like a night out in a pick up truck. We were all young once.
The shallow depth of field I used on this rain drop photo gave a nice look to the red fence in the rear.
We love Red Box.
Folks, this is the only red light in town. Ain't it sweet?
I love red cars. Right, Butler and Bagman?
What's more red than a fire hydrant?
Be sure and drop in here when you visit. All things nautical to be found.
Can't have a assignment about "red" without Old Glory.
A red and "green" door.
Fresh steamed Crisfield, Maryland crabs.
We have some great volunteers around our town.
Important people visit Crisfield.
Lasagna, anyone? Be sure and check out the Pizza Shoppe after you have had your fill of seafood.
Red tugboat near Somers Cove Marina. Red lettered sign, too. And even a red barge
I saved this little closeup from the shoot I did at Eddie Heath's Crab Pots.
Crisfield Coast Guard station.
Can't get enough of our Coasties.
Umbrellas always make for a great photo. This was an excellent opportunity; a red umbrella, and all those red signs.
Come visit us soon, and paint the town red in your own way. We'll supply the paint brushes.
Crisfield - a great place to live and play!

Great job with the theme Patty! You stuck with the (red) theme and also showed off Crisfield nicely!
Such great photos and it makes me want to visit Crisfield; it looks delightful! Always a pleasure to see your extraordinary photos.
Most excellent pictures! Thank you for sharing! i will check out that new blog you are talking about.
You sure did a great job with the theme. Patty, you are one in a million. Thanks for the fantastic tour. It was obvious that a professional was at work here.
What a fun assignment! I love the edit on the first shot. I couldn't tell what is was until I enlarged it!
Thanks Hensly.
Mildred: Come on over for a visit.
Robyn: There will be more to come at my in-progress "my town" shoot out info blog. It is not a blog for a lot of postings; only for tips, rules (or the rules of the no rules), a place where assignments will be posted, and a list of participants. I have them here, but I will be adding them to the info site soon.
It is basically a place where I can send newbies to get the whole idea of what we do, instead of bits and pieces. It will also act as a quick reference for finding out who gets to pick the next assignment.
Gordon: Thanks. You are quite a professional yourself. We are blessed to have you, my friend.
Michelle: Thanks. That is a photo from the Crisfield boat docking contest, heavily filtered in red, of course, to match the theme. Those people are really "painting the town red." Our boat docking contest are awesome. People come from all over the country to see them.
Nice!! They all look very nice! i think all of them are going to make a good big wall art in red if put together! My favourites are 'Red door' and the canoes.
I love red color. And I love looking at the photos posted here. I love the canoes, the crabs, the crab pots photos most! I am excited to join again next friday. I can't wait.
Wow, that are a lot of stunning reds! It's always great to see your town. I hope my post will be up tonight. It's 2:34 PM here. Have a wonderful weekend, Patty :)
Patty, you never fail to impress us with your photos and what you are able to come with for the shoot outs. My particular favorite is the water tower with the crab on it. I am partial to water towers, what can I say. :-) I snuck a bit of fruit into mine too with some strawberries. have a great day!! I am thrilled to be a part of the fun finally!!!! Debby
Aw, Patty, filter queen with the cheering crowd! Where do you find the time!? And yes, I sure remember the Green Door song. Such a broad approach to this topic. I loved the blatant reds and then suddenly in the midst, the subdued out of focus fence behind raindrops -- you could repeat that one next week for the water theme.
I love your new header!
You're the first Friday shoot out I've visited this week, but I'm wondering how many stop signs I'm going to find. And with such a vibrant colour, whether I'll need sunglasses before I'm finished.
I really like the Lasagna sign! What atmosphere!
Wow! That's a lot of red. I love it!
Only one traffic light in town? For real? Lucky! Beautiful shades of red here, festive, in a way. Have a great weekend!
good morning Patty, love the red boats turned over - a photo I would have loved to take. I like the water assignment for next week. maybe I can get a chance to go to the ship channel in East HOUSTON. everyone from TEXAS knows you don't mix up Houston and Dallas....could get you shot.
Wonderful photos. I enjoyed them all.
I really didn't understand the rules... so I appreciate the link.
My only trips were to the doctor this week and I was not much in the mood to take pictures on those trips. So inside my house took place most of the photos. I think maybe I can do better with the next subject.
Love them all but I love the roll of crabpot wire. I used to always use a lot of red and yellow pots. The crabs seemed to be drawn to them.
Crustacean Station looks like my kind of place!!
I loved next week's subject by Hensley........Water!!
Great choice and no one can say they don't have water in some form ya know?
Have a great holiday and weekend filled with love, joy and laughter and........
Steady On
Reggie Girl
Wow, I enjoyed your photos, Patty. You really painted the town red! :D
Patty, I love what you did with this one - really love it! My favorites are the canoes, beware of dog sign, and the lady in the rain with her red umbrella.
I switched My Moments over because I was hoping to not have the wonderful people who keep shoot out lists have to change anything, and I have been really thinking about doing an image a day blog. :) I actually love the neighborhood! :D
That was quite funny.
Wohoo, you got plenty of red in your town! I enjoyed the tour and once again I love all your photos especially the canoes' shot and .....I love crabs!! how much are the crabs there?
Awesome job as always! The fire hydrant is my favorite! Have a great holiday weekend.
I cannot honestly tell you which ones I like, because you have such an eye, so I love them all! I am glad you posted the water tower so when I see it as I drive into town in July, well you will hear this crazy Texas saying 'Woa hoo I have arrived'!
I will add a nice shade of red-orange to your town that week!
This theme is fascinating because of the different items each person selects,
Great pictures - again.
as red is my favourite colour, i think these are spectacular.
The 2nd picture of the red door, awesome, the red crabs, yum and I love the red umbrella. We use the Red Box a lot too. Can't beat a $1.00 movie :) But old glories Red beats them all. So love your red town.
When is everyone else visiting?? We need to plan a group field trip!
Love your shots Patty!
You are quite the photojournalist!
The shot of the boats, turned upside down leave me feeling like I want to grab one and go fishin'.
all these shots of your crab bake offs make me want to come and visit...We have pizza and Italian sausage cook offs in Chicago!
Enjoy your weekend...
Patty, Patty, Patty - I never know where to start with your photos. They're all so great. But for me the door, the lasagna sign and the canoes have an edge in my opinion.
I've started on my water shots for next Friday! Have a great weekend.
Patty - the red & green door really speaks to me and draws me into your world!
That red filter effect is pretty cool! I love all the bright colors!
