Crisfield High School Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school, and I captured some of our seniors doing what young people do best. Celebrating. Next week, they graduate.

I was trying to think of my favorite song when I graduated. I might be giving my age away here, but it was, "Reach Out I'll Be There For You." It was by the Four Tops. And the top billboard song for that year was The Ballad of the Green Berets. My favorite movie was Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. What was your favorite song, movie, or whatever?

Boy, these pics bring back memories! John Denver's "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" was popular and at graduation our class sang Frank Sinatra's "Did It My Way." Oh, how funny! I do a marvelous imitation of Frank singing that song! ha

I liked that John Denver song.

You should do a video of yourself singing "Did it My Way." and post it on your blog.

Our graduation theme song was "Long and Winding Road" by The Beatles but my personal favorite that year (1972) was "I Can See Clearly Now". I probably could see very little clearly as I was only 16 and heading out into the big world, I think I was more mystified than anything. Thanks for taking me back Patty!

Your grads sure do finish early. School doesn't end for seniors around here for a couple more weeks.

Elaine Dale: I loved both those songs -two of my favs from 1972. Thanks for taking me back to 1972, a true blast from the past.

Our students are smart around here, so what is an extra few weeks?

Blazing Saddles (1974). Freddy Fender, Before the Next Teardrop Falls, Rock and Roll All Nite - Kiss, Jive Talkin' - The Bee Gees, Best of My Love - The Eagles, Get Down Tonight - KC and the Sunshine Band. You should have never asked. There are just to many. But I wouldn't go back for anything in the world. Once was enough of being in high school. Thanks for the memories. Happy Weekend.

I do not remember a song or a time filled with that much fun and light heartedness. I graduated from HS but had my son 2 months before graduation and was not allowed to march - times have changed. Took me almost 30 years to graduate from university - Probably would list 'Michele' by the beatles as my all time fav.

Yay, this post brings back the time when I was a senior in high school. I remember, after finishing our last exam, we were shouting and went out in the corridors throwing eggs with one another. It was then that I realized it's the tradition of our school to do that. Oh, how I miss high school. :D

And, oh, I just want to share that before our graduation, my batch mates were forwarding a message that says: Seniors, signing-off. And some of us cried upon receiving that text message. :_(

Water balloons and girls in bikinis -- it doesn't get any better than this. I never graduated from high school -- long weird story there. But my favorite movie as a Freshman in college (while the high school truant officer was looking for me) was Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf also. I can't remember my favorite song. But I'll recognize it when I hear it.

haha! These remind me of when my kids graduated. I have a very eclectic taste in music so I can't really say a fav but the 80's were awesome for the music :)

Ohh, i have to let my mind wander back thru the years to think of the songs from my high school grad year. The Moodie Blues were singing then, it was also our prom theme song, The Knights in White Satin! ah, good memories of graduation, prom, being finished with school and just starting out on our way. The Carpenters were BIG then too, I am sitting here singing their song "I've only just begun!" cuz that is what song they played for my graduation day. Good post, Patty gal!! And as the song says, "thanks, for the memories....". Debby
