A walk in the park

Janes Island State Park
"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air." ~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

This is a beautiful time to visit Jane's Island State Park. I photographed these people through the office window. They were enjoying a stroll along the Little Annemessex River.

Salisbury's On the Edge entertains at the Olde Crisfield Crab and Steakhouse

Salisbury's On the Edge entertains at the Olde Crisfield Crab and Steakhouse House Halloween Party, 2010

This past Sunday, I covered the Halloween party at the Olde Crisfield Crab and Steak House. It also marked the winding down of the season, meaning the tiki bar is now closed until spring. You can still dine in the enclosed upstairs dining area on Fridays thru Sundays. Miss the costume party? Never "fear" -  Maho's  is hosting a Halloween party on October 30, at 9:30 p.m. Support your merchants and restaurants and party in Crisfield!

Halloween is near

Halloween in Crisfield 2010

I captured these kiddos enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon, anticipating the goodies that will abound on Halloween. Halloween events posted below. Umm?  Maybe I should go as a camera.

Don't forget to visit Woodson Elementary School for their Haunted Hallways on Friday, October 29 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  They have spooky hallways for the older kids and little-kid-friendly halls. It was a real hoot last year.

October 30: Halloween Harvest Party at the Pizza Shoppe - 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

October 30: Trick or treat in Crisfield -  3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Keep in mind that Crisfield has a 6:00 p.m. curfew.

October 30:  No curfew for us big kids who enjoy Halloween. After tucking the kiddos into their beds, don your favorite costumes and come out for the spooktacular Halloween party at Maho's, beginning at 9:30 p.m. -  Semiblind will be playing.

Biking for groceries

Biking in Crisfield

Crisfielder's love to bike to the store to pick up small items. Not only do they get exercise and fresh air, they are able to enjoy the scenery and meet neighbors and friends along the way, stopping to chat. This biker was headed back from the store with a gallon of milk. Howdy neighbor!

Why not bring your bike to Crisfield and take advantage of  this nice weather? We have some great fall weather coming up. The chilly days that lead up to winter are on their way.  Right now, it's beautiful in Crisfield!

Homecoming

Homecoming
I missed  Homecoming at Crisfield High School. Actually, I forgot about it until I saw these students taking photos near the county beach before the event. I jumped out of my car and snapped a few photos. Not many, I know, but I couldn't pass up the photo op.

I missed this lovely couple. They were leaving. It was pretty cold with that wind blowing across the bay.

I love black and white...
