Haunted Hallways at Woodson Elementary in Crisfield, October 20, 6pm-8pm

Haunted Hallways at Woodson Elementary in Crisfield

I love Halloween, and in my career I have covered many "haunted" events. The folks at Woodson do a spooktacular job, and no matter where you live, it's worth the drive, but get there early because lines are long.  Admission is $2 for the spooky side and $2 for the not-so-scary side (for little kids).  And if you are so inclined, you can pay more, because the money goes back into the school. That is my suggestion, not theirs. Adults get a kick out the event, and many dress up, so put on your favorite disguise: Dracula, pirate, knight-in-shining-armor, fairy godmother, angel, Angry Birds - Wheee! - and enjoy a Halloween event in Crisfield.

Below are some photos from last year. You know you want to go!

Looks like this little girl wandered into the wrong room.

Even the officers of the Crisfield City Police Department enjoyed the evening. Um? That character on the floor looks mighty suspicious.

Halloween is near

Halloween in Crisfield 2010

I captured these kiddos enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon, anticipating the goodies that will abound on Halloween. Halloween events posted below. Umm?  Maybe I should go as a camera.

Don't forget to visit Woodson Elementary School for their Haunted Hallways on Friday, October 29 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  They have spooky hallways for the older kids and little-kid-friendly halls. It was a real hoot last year.

Other Halloween events I have previously posted are:

October 30: Halloween parade sponsored by the Crisfield Kiwanis Club. Line up at City Hall - 11:00 a.m.

October 30: Halloween Harvest Party at the Pizza Shoppe - 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

October 30: Trick or treat at the Masonic Lodge - 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

October 30: Trick or treat in Crisfield -  3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Keep in mind that Crisfield has a 6:00 p.m. curfew.

October 30:  No curfew for us big kids who enjoy Halloween. After tucking the kiddos into their beds, don your favorite costumes and come out for the spooktacular Halloween party at Maho's, beginning at 9:30 p.m. -  Semiblind will be playing.

Happy Halloween from Crisfield!

"A grandmother pretends she doesn’t know who you are on Halloween." ~ Erma Bombeck

Don't eat too much candy!

A big "Thanks" goes out to Woodson Elementary for their wonderful haunted house. It was great gift to the community.

Tis the Season

"Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile." ~ William Cullen Bryant

We are all in fall mode. Willow is getting ready for her grand ball, chipmunks are listening to "Oh, Canada" as they gather their winter food, Gray is putting on his winter hat, Gordon and ChefE are planning on catching all the fish in New York ...I would like to mention everyone, but then I would never get around to posting my photos. Except, I do wonder what Bagman is doing?

Fall is a wonderful time of the year to get out and enjoy the beauty around us. That includes going for walks and drives and taking in the sights and sounds of a new season, decorating our houses and yards with rich fall colors, planning our holidays, and checking out our local stores. I wanderd into the Weathered Porch in Crisfield today looking for a particular chair and found some wonderful fall colors I would like to share with you.
