Never leave the house without a tripod. I had my car cleaned last week and threw my "carry-around" gear in our other car. Last week I was returning from an event I had covered and saw the moon coming up, chasing it to my "secret place" where I shot through one of the crab shanties. I had to bump the ISO up to 6400 and hold my breath so I would not get camera shake. I had carried only my wide-angle lens to the event - this photo called for another lens. So rule #2: Never leave the house without all your gear.
