Unfortunately, I had planned on traveling light that day, and carried only my wide-angle lens and my telephoto lens, so I was not able to give you the great view of the marina and a hint of the colorful balloons at the same time without making the people look like ants, but you can come and enjoy Somers Cove Marina for yourself.
The marina is a great place for holding any type of outdoor event. It has a large covered shed and a fantastic view. As a matter of fact, the famous J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam bake is held here each year, and this year, July 21, will mark its 34th year. If I am not mistaken, it is the largest political event in the state. But an appetite for politics is not required to enjoy this political extravaganza; just a huge appetitie for the best seafood from the bay.
Politicians from both sides, their constituents, and people from all over the country come out for this festive event. For $40.00, you get all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, clams, oysters, fresh fried fish, french fries and sweet potato fries - the real kind, corn on the cob, onion rings, watermelon, and all you can drink beer and soda. A note, on politics. For the past three years, I have covered many political events and have enjoyed the company of wonderful politicians from both sides. I am not a political person. Yes, I vote, but I keep my politics to myself. I just record the happenings.
Kudos to all of our Maryland politicians. You have a tough job, and I respect each and everyone of you! Oh, and good luck to everyone in the upcoming elections.

This afternoon, I covered Flag Day ceremonies at the city dock. The Crisfield Elks Lodge does a beautiful job in honoring our flags and country.
