Crisfield National Night Out Photos - 2010
"A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm." ~ Henrik Ibsen
In Crisfield, we know how to step up to the helm.
National Night Out is a community and police awareness-raising event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The event which began in 1984, is celebrated throughout the United States and Canada on the 2nd Tuesday in August.
Kudos to our local law-enforcement and city officials for making this year's event another success. I am always proud when I see our law-enforcement officials helping to make a difference, especially when they are working with the young people.
A big "thanks" goes out to all the volunteers. With a population of around 3,000, we are blessed to have so many volunteers waiting to take the helm.
The event was held at Somers Cove Marina. Enjoy the photos.
This young man gives his seal of approval to the 2010 Crisfield National Night Out!
And let me give our city another plug - it sure it nice living here. After the event, my husband and I jumped on our scooters and drove around town. I love this old building.
Shooting from the city dock.
I met these nice people from Sacramento who were cruising the Chesapeake on the American Spirit.
And then I posed my husband in front of the National Night Out sign.
