Crisfield High School Last Day of School

Today was the last day of school, and I captured some of our seniors doing what young people do best. Celebrating. Next week, they graduate.







I was trying to think of my favorite song when I graduated. I might be giving my age away here, but it was, "Reach Out I'll Be There For You." It was by the Four Tops. And the top billboard song for that year was The Ballad of the Green Berets. My favorite movie was Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. What was your favorite song, movie, or whatever?

This week's Friday shoot out was assigned to us by Gordon in St. Augustine, Florida. Gordon's assignment was, "Paint the Town Red." Thanks Gordon. It was a fun shoot. I filtered a few photos for effect.

I chose Hensly from Hawaii to pick our May 29, assignment. Hensly has challenged us with "Water." Put your thinking hats on.

I have been working on a site, which is under construction, for newbies who want to join out shoot outs. Our "gang" is growing fast, and I get a lot of questions.

I have not had time to edit text, or add the list of shooters, but those who want to know all things about our Friday shoot outs, jump on over to the site. Reggie Girl, who started the shoot outs with me, is a team member.

Yea. Yea. I used the tomatoes in a Friday shoot out about food. But I had to include them again.

Whoo Hoo! Nothing like a night out in a pick up truck. We were all young once.

The shallow depth of field I used on this rain drop photo gave a nice look to the red fence in the rear.

Umbrellas always make for a great photo. This was an excellent opportunity; a red umbrella, and all those red signs.

Crisfield, Bicycles, and Eddie Heath's Crab Pots

I Captured these bikers passing Main and Eighth St. in Crisfield, on a beautiful sunny day. Across the street is Eddie Heath's Crab Pots business. And he is one busy person this time of year. Just look at all those crab pots!

I tried to take a photo of Eddie sitting at his desk, but he was running around trying to get a million things done, including trying to get a load of crab pots ready to be shipped off to New Jersey. So I did the next best thing and took some photos of his famous crab pots.

Thanks, Eddie, for letting me stomp all over the place. We have such nice people here.

Crisfield, as my blogging friends around the world know, is a working water town. It was built on the seafood industry, and it is a town steeped in history.

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, you will love Crisfield. No traffic, lots of friendly people, and a beautiful bay.

Pack up your bikes, scooters, or walking shoes, and head to Crisfield. If you have pets, you might want to bring them with you because, like a lot of people, you might just want to stay - forever. Once you catch the fever, there is no cure.

I thought I would entertain you today with a little fun and fancy art from Lorraine Hudson whose art can be seen at the Somerset Arts Council in Crisfield, through May 30. For more info call Earlene at 410.968.2787.

Hudson works in mixed media, and many of her canvases are sculpted by hand. All of her works are created to be viewed in both normal and black light. Each creation is treated with a special coating, allowing the viewer to interact with Hudson's art by touch. This make her art ideal for children and the visually challenged.
