Watermelons in Crisfield

Watermelon in Crisfield
"...Cornbread is sweet,
Pork chops are good,
Black-eyed peas are mighty, mighty fine.
But give me, oh give me,
I really wish you would,
That watermelon hangin on the vine..."
~ Tennessee Ernie Ford - The Watermelon Song

Being from the south, and being old enough to remember Tennessee Ernie Ford, I chose this song to accompany these photos. I could really use some cornbread and black-eyed peas now.

I'll bet you could use some watermelon now.

Lemonade Stand

Lemonade Stand
Doesn't this bring to mind the old days when kids made their own money doing odd jobs like mowing lawns, delivering newspapers, and selling lemonade?

Always time for a cart wheel on the lawn...

I think these children are on the right track.
