Monday Robin

Robin, birds in Crisfield

"Bird on the horizon sitting on the fence
He's singing his song for me at his own expense
And I'm just like that bird oh oh
Singing just for you..."
~ Bob Dylan ~You're A Big Girl Now

Ok, he was not sitting on a fence, but he was still singing a song for me at his own expense.

Mirrors
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.” ~ Charles R. Swindoll

~ ~ ~

People who know me know that I am a pretty easy-going person. I attribute that to my attitude. I am not perfect, but I try to keep my attitude-meter tuned up and in as good running order as my car - Don't worry, be happy. I am not sure when Swindoll, who was born in 1934, wrote the above quote, but he hit the nail on the head, at least in my book. So if  your life seems as dusty as this old mirror that I spotted on the side of the road (photos are everywhere, if you only look), you can send negativity packing with a good attitude.  A good attitude brings a smile to your face, and it spreads like a virus to others who may need that smile even more than you.  So play the one string you have. Get that Windex out and clean off your life-mirror.

I didn't know what to do with this photo, so I turned it into a life-lesson.

Gordon's in Crisfield June, 2011
It's too late to catch this exhibit at the museum, but I thought I would post the rest of the photos from the event. You can view info and other photos at this blog link. Do check out our museum when in Crisfield. It's a great place to learn about our history.
