He hates writing tickets but like you said, it is part of the job. He's been sworn at many times in his career but mostly by those under the influence. More than often however he has been appreciated for being there in someone's time of need. I've seen him mourn for the lose of people in the fatal accidents that he has had to respond to. These people see some aweful things in their careers but still show up for work every shift. I'm not at all surprised that this man posed for your photo. You probably were the brightest spot in his day because you realized that he was just doing his job. I know I couldn't do what they do.
JuneJunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17283259375743586344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8539155515713685293.post-2505343974135219542009-04-02T19:16:00.000-04:002009-04-02T19:16:00.000-04:00Hi Patty, I came over to your blog because Debby (...Hi Patty, I came over to your blog because Debby (PBH) told me I should read your post on police officers. It was great! I too have a lot of respect for the authority they have. I'm so glad they are there for us when we need them. I'm not at all surprised that he allowed you to take his picture for your blog. I'm sure it made him feel appreciated. But the fact you showed him respect and realized that he was just doing his job thrilled him even more. My husband has been a police officer in Idaho for 23 yrs. He loves the opportunity to help the public and truely loves his work.He has had times when he has been sworn at and threatened but more often it is people thankful that he was there when they needed him. I have seen him mourn for lives that have been lost in many a fatal accident where he was the first to respond. And what he's gone through when he delivers a family the news that one of their loved ones have died. These professionals see things that we will never have to see and they are affected by it deeply. I know there are many who seek the job for the wrong reasons, but most departments hiring processes are able to weed out those who will not be able to do the job. I just realized that I'm rambling. (forgive me) Thankyou for the great reminder that they do a lot of good in the world.Junehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17283259375743586344noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8539155515713685293.post-78155171239919947212009-04-02T00:28:00.000-04:002009-04-02T00:28:00.000-04:00hahaha nice shot until now I'm trying to figure ou...hahaha nice shot until now I'm trying to figure out the duck's photo :-) thanks for sharing about april fools' day, the duck is so cute I will show it to my daughter, she likes ducksMissyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09265603751681704881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8539155515713685293.post-71516412203234532102009-04-01T18:12:00.000-04:002009-04-01T18:12:00.000-04:00Happy April Fool's Day. I enjoyed your last comment on my blog, about living only 40 minutes from the beach and wanting to just get on over there to sit for the day. take me with you if you go. :-) We are about 2 hours from the nearest beach here, and have to go to Holland to find sand and waves! For a NJ coast gal, it is sometimes hard to live inland like this. I sure do miss the ocean. Most likely the reason why I thought I would post those pics yesterday! You can take me out of NJ but you can not take NJ out of me!! Thanks for the April Fools Day Photo. I sure look like a fool looking at it with my head hanging low.. :) It's so cute anyway..

I was once a victim of April Fools Day.. Maybe this is the reason why I cannot forget this day. I was working for an American Company as a Sales Consultant. I did my research and prepared promotional leaflets on certain products. It took me 10 consecutive days to complete the 50-page Sales Report and Catalogue which is due in two days. Jon, my American Officemate brought it to the printer for professional print job. I was on vacation then and he called me, advised me to cut my vacation at once and come quickly to do the revision of my entire work.. I was so mad but I got no choice but to go or our entire project would be a sham.. Three hour ride and when I got there I found out I was being fooled around... :(

But they are good guys.. they later congratulated me for the job well done.
:)

Have a safe and nice day my friend.Loida of the 2L3B'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13021591376131650627noreply@blogger.com
